Living in the South End is great however lately our area is experiencing a significant spike in break-ins and
muggings during peak foot traffic & daylight hours.
WE CAN KILL THIS RASH AS
EASILY AS WE HAVE BEFORE WITH A FEW SIMPLE STEPS:
1) Report any suspicious
activity to 911 immediately (617.343.4911 from cell phone) -- there need not
be an actual crime committed to prompt a call into 911! If something
doesn't look right it probably isn't, and too often folks notice something
amiss before a crime is committed but never bother alerting police. It’s always
best to take 30 seconds & give police a heads-up to investigate. More
calls to 911 will increase regular police presence in the neighborhood.
2) Walk without earbuds
or talking on cellphone.
4) Keep electronics out
of sight at home & in the car, keep window curtains closed when out.
5) Keep lights ON
indoors & out at night -- light is the #1 deterrent of crime.
